concept reimagines ancient Egypt through a visual identity built around the motif of golden sand dust, symbolising the sweep of time, Egyptian royalty, and desert landscapes. Inspired by the drifting sands across pyramids and ancient tombs, the dust flows dynamically through the NGV space, overtaking the gallery and environment, evoking a sense of history resurfacing. The motion-led concept reveals fragments of artefacts, mythologies, and relics beneath shifting layers of gold. Embracing the theme “Re-wind to Fast-forward,” my conceptualisation aimed to spotlight the historical significance of queer films, weaving together elements of fragmentation, pixelation, and glitch effects reminiscent of old television and film charm. The logo design, featuring a pixel typeface, was a visual anchor, encapsulating the festival’s theme. Monochrome and colour film photographs of queer films were seamlessly integrated with fragmented pixelated graphics and analogue noise elements, constructing a compelling visual language. The chosen brand colours represent each gender within the LGBTQIA+ community to the symbolic significance of the rainbow. This design seamlessly extended across diverse collateral, including posters, program designs, tote bags, tee designs, and social media posts. The comprehensive and cohesive visual identity fulfilled the client’s quest for a nostalgic and complex aesthetic and effectively communicated the festival’s overarching theme. It celebrated the enduring legacy of queer cinema by thoughtfully integrating visual elements and maintaining thematic coherence. In essence, this concept design served as a fitting representation of the Melbourne Queer Film Festival, encapsulating the rich history and storytelling essence of the LGBTQIA+ community. 2023 Work @ Together, they performed masterpieces by Bach, Vivaldi, Pärt, and Mozart, offering a program that left audiences breathless. The performances took place in two of Australia’s most iconic venues: The Ian Potter Southbank Centre in Melbourne and the Sydney Opera House.Our creative campaign, Atemlos, meaning “breathless” in German, explores the symbiotic relationship between voice and wind instrument&nbsp;music, drawing parallels between their intrinsic breath-like qualities.&nbsp;Through typography and tone, we illustrate this connection.The typeface embodies refinement with its minimalist strokes and slender form. It evokes a fluidity reminiscent&nbsp;of wind instrument shapes and exhale of breath,&nbsp;aligned with our campaign direction. Our campaign features a curated palette of warm&nbsp;and muted tones.
